About
As PWB’s matriarch, Elizabeth is the firm’s steady hand and institutional memory. She is often the person who knows what everyone needs to be doing before they do. As Office Manager and Executive Assistant, she keeps the office running smoothly, supports the team and makes sure the many moving parts behind the scenes work together. Her career has taken a wonderfully winding route. After completing a Bachelor of Commerce in 1999, Elizabeth spent three years working as an accountant before heading to Canada in 2002. She joined a commercial law firm in Toronto as a receptionist, then moved into a personal assistant role and legal work. In 2004, she completed an Honours Certificate with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario, gaining experience in litigation, corporate matters, real estate and estates. She became the firm’s administrator in 2005, bringing together her accounting, legal and organisational skills. Elizabeth returned to Australia in May 2008 and joined PWB Lawyers as Office Manager that July. She has been an integral part of the firm ever since and knows PWB inside and out. Alongside managing the office and supporting the lawyers, Elizabeth oversees PWB’s financial accounts and trust account. Her accounting background brings financial expertise to work that calls for accuracy, diligence and close attention to detail. She balances complex and sometimes competing responsibilities with enthusiasm, good humour and an impressive ability to keep all the plates spinning. Her commercial nous, legal experience and organisational skills help the lawyers focus on their clients while the business keeps ticking along. Elizabeth takes her role seriously, but doesn’t take herself too seriously - which is just as important in a busy law firm.
