Family Violence Orders
Family Violence Orders are made upon application to the Magistrates Court by a person affected by Family Violence. Family Violence includes, but is not limited to, physical assault (including sexual assault, verbal assault and abuse, threats, intimidation, harassment, stalking, economic and emotional abuse, and damage to property.
A Family Violence Order is made in respect of a person who the applicant is in a familial or romantic relationship with. It will prohibit certain conduct by that person, and limit their communication with the applicant depending on the circumstances of the individual application.
