Ros Courtney

After completing a combined Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws Degree at the University of Tasmania in 1990, Ros was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 1992. Ros worked with a legal firm on the northwest coast of Tasmania early in her career, commencing with PWB Lawyers in 1994. She has worked exclusively within the area of family law since 1996. Ros became a principal of the firm in July 2000.
Ros’ specialisation in family law includes dealing with property and children’s issues, divorce applications, child support, maintenance and relationships law, together with child protection and child welfare issues.
Over the years Ros has served on the panel of independent children’s lawyers within the Family Court, Federal Magistrates Court and Child Welfare jurisdiction. Ros is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
Ros is married with a young family. She enjoys the relaxed lifestyle available in Tasmania, especially Tasmania’s great scenery and beaches.
