Peter Barker
Special Counsel
Peter is PWB Lawyer’s Special Counsel and appears as a Barrister across all our practice areas in all of the Courts.
Peter was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1980. Since 1996 he has practiced solely as a barrister, having appeared in Courts and Tribunals, Commissions and Inquiries, the Workers Compensation Tribunal, the Federal Court, the Full Court of the Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal Appeal. He has also appeared before Defence Force Magistrates and Courts Martial in his capacity as Army Reserve Legal Officer.
Peter is a former chairman of the Parole Board, a former committee member of the Tasmanian Bar Association and the Council of The Law Society of Tasmania and former member of the Legal Aid Review Committee.
He is also an occasional lecturer on trial procedures at the University of Tasmania.
