Ros Courtney was born and raised in Tasmania. Apart from a time holidaying overseas she has lived and worked in Tasmania all her life.
In addition to being married with a young family, Ros greatly enjoys the relaxed lifestyle available in Tasmania, especially Tasmania’s great scenery and beaches and spending time with family and friends.
After completing a combined Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws Degree at the University of Tasmania in 1990, she was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 1992 Ros has worked exclusively within the area of family law for twelve years.
Ros’ specialisation in family law includes dealing with property and children’s issues, divorce applications, child support, maintenance and relationship law, together with child protection and child welfare issues.
Ros is on the panel of independent children’s lawyers within the Family Court and Federal Magistrates Service, representing the interest of children whose parents are involved in litigation as to the children’s welfare.
